M & N - Litter
Rosie and Tish, mother and daughter, were in season together. We had no intention of having another litter from Rosie. Rosie came along for company because our dogs are never alone and with 3 males at home it is more practical not to have ladies in heat walking around. So she went to Poland with her daughter.
Once there, I started to have doubts....
And Rosie had her eye on a young blue male named Rio. Two nests at the same time, something we had never done before. After a day and a half of hesitation, I finally made the decision. You never know how things will turn out and maybe that's a good thing. Looking back, this choice saved Tish's nest…. |
The first weeks
It took a while before we dared to enjoy these puppies. We don't wish the sadness and powerlessness on anyone, but giving up is not something that suits us.
A litter of puppies is always intensive, the short nights and the first weeks are always stressful. But this time it is indescribable.
Fortunately, we had a lot of support from a dear friend. Who supported us, sympathized with us, but also made us look at things differently. And in the end they are eight separate miracles and they were super puppies.
And Rosie is worth her weight in gold….
